Nothing like waking up at 4:30AM on a Sunday morning to go for a drive! Yes, it’s very difficult to get out of bed, but once you do it only gets better from there on. About a dozen DFCers met at 6AM to enjoy the completely empty roads leading to Skytop Lodge in the Pocono mountains of PA.
New York Concours d’Elegance was held on a rainy Saturday in Bridgehampton, NY. Bad weather got in the way of a good turnout, but there were still over 50 cars present at the event. The guests and participants of the event got to enjoy some great food, prosecco and help raise funds for the re election campaign of Suffolk County Sheriff Vincent DeMarco.
Over 2 dozen DFCers took over the Meatpacking District in NYC on a warm summer Sunday morning. A couple of very special cars joined the usual array of Lamborghinis, Ferraris, McLarens etc – a Bugatti Veyron SuperSport and a black Ferrari F50. After some morning coffee and pictures the group started the drive up the West Side Highway towards the top of Bear Mountain.
Wilzig Racing Manor is a private track built by Alan Wilzig in his farm about an hour and half drive north from Manhattan. The track is over 1 mile long with challenging corners and amazing scenery. Located next to the track is Alan’s museum where he keeps his extensive collection of motorcycles and cars.
